All accommodation is air-conditioned and non-smoking, and most rooms come with a wardrobe, linen and a socket by the bed.
The main differences are the bathroom arrangement and space: the single and one of the twin rooms use shared bathrooms, while the studios, family rooms, dormitory and triple have private facilities. Suneta Hostel Chiangmai stands on Chang Moi Kao Road in the Chang Moi quarter, just north-east of Tha Pae Gate on the eastern side of Chiang Mai's moat-enclosed old city. Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) is only about 5 km away, so a metered taxi or a ride-hailing app reaches the door in roughly fifteen minutes, while the city's shared red songthaews are the cheapest way to hop across town. The railway station and the Arcade bus terminal both lie a few kilometres to the east, an easy taxi or songthaew ride from the hostel. The old city itself is small, flat and laid out on a simple grid, so once you have dropped your bags most central sights are within walking distance; bikes and scooters can be hired nearby if you want to roam further. From the door you can reach Tha Pae Gate, the Ping River and Warorot Market on foot in a matter of minutes.
You are perfectly placed for the old town. Tha Pae Gate, the city's main eastern gate and gathering square, is a couple of minutes away, and beyond it the lanes lead to major temples such as Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh. The Three Kings Monument and the City Arts & Cultural Centre sit a short walk to the west, while the riverside Warorot Market (Kad Luang) and the Night Bazaar are within easy reach to the east. On Sunday evenings the Ratchadamnoen Walking Street market fills the heart of the old city with stalls and street food, and on Saturdays the Wua Lai Walking Street runs just south of Chiang Mai Gate. For a bigger day out, songthaews and tours climb to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep on the mountain overlooking the city. The cool, dry months from November to February are the most comfortable time to visit, and November often brings the Yi Peng and Loy Krathong lantern festivals.
